i rent cameras and lenses from lensrentals.com, and over time i became aware that the customer service and polices there are truly exceptional. help is always courteous, fast and friendly, and they always seem to go that extra mile when needed. and yes, that could be said of some other retailers, but for me, they're in the top 3 if not number 1. i've never had a bad experience or even 1 that isn't ideal with lensrentals.

so, what retailer do you deal with regularly that delivers an exeptional customer experience?

I remember another, Mockmill. Those are good people over there. You can tell they like their jobs by how nice and helpful they are. I can usually pick up on it when people are being paid to be nice.
Bluebird Grain Farm folks are awesome, but I realize only a few of us would shop there.
More mainstream, we've always had good experiences with the folks who work at the Whole Foods we go to.

mockmill - good to know. i feel there's a grain mill in my near future!

we live by several whole foods stores, and aside from the fact that every one has horrible parking, i've found customer service to be hit or miss. nothing bad, mind you - till the pandemic, i shopped at them a lot. but definitely a room for improvement situation.

Does my dealer count? I've been visiting Mr. Man since I arrived in Germany, and he regularly slips a big chunk of chocolate into my flower purchases. On top of, not in lieu of. He knows what I like, and sets aside exceptional flowers for when I come to visit. I assume he treats other (high volume?) regulars in a similar fashion, because he's been doing this a long time. I've been visiting him for 7 years, which is significantly longer than any other retailer I have dealt with over the decades.

baratze, huh? cool!

i see amazon listed in that thread a lot. while amazon has always done me right, and they're good, i can't say they always give me exceptional customer service, and some of their policies don't thrill me.
My beef with Amazon is there’s no way to contact them. I recently ordered some socks that listed a pack of eight. When they came there was only five. So, send me three more pairs…..seems simple, but no way to contact them. I left feedback, but no reply. So I sent them back. Coulda been a simple solution. I get that they don’t want to pay a bunch of customer service reps, but if you’re gonna have customers, you gotta have some reps, cuz things are gonna go sideways, especially in these times.

Not thrilled with Whole Foods now that Amazon appear to be hellbent on turning their retail stores into warehouses for delivery. The Amazon shoppers have largely taken over the WFs near us.

i contact them all the time. i've talked to them on the phone or via chat probably over 100 times. they have many reps in many departments.

they recently changed the navigation, but this seems to be the current one:
start at the bottom right of any page, and click "help". then select "a delivery, order or return", select the item, and you can usually have them call you or if you talk to the automated assistant, it will put you in touch with live chat or have someone call you. if the issue is a delivery and the human rep isn't too sure, ask to talk to logistics.

btw, several selections on the help page lets you select "i need more help", which will either let you chat, get a call or maybe talk to the automated assistant.

Thx for the tip P, I’ll try it next time.

I'm with you @pcake on contacting Amazon. I'd even say they are one of the easiest companies to contact in my experience. In just a few mouse clicks I am in chat or someone is calling me. What I also like is the person I am chatting with/talking to has the power to resolve the issue I am concerned with. I feel they live up their mission to be 'Earth's most customer-centric company'.

Recently, Ace skateboard trucks.
They sent me 2 free pairs of replacement bushings 3 weeks before they where made available to the public because mine where busted up.

Free shipping and lightning fast email response. As if I was a sponsored pro on the team.

Ace trucks!!!!!

Amazon for the win among big corps. Their returns policy is stupid friendly to customers. Recently I ordered a rubber turntable mat. They refunded me on Day 2. Looking deeper it turned out the item was damaged on its way to Amazon Lockers at Whole Foods. Never had a seller tell me in advance that something they sent me was damaged AND automatically refund me. I didn’t have to do squat.

I have bought several things from Chicago Music Exchange via Reverb over the years and they’ve always been great.
