Where should I move to?

So I just retired, and my wife and I are looking for a new place to live. We are currently is the Los Angeles are. We had settled on Asheville North Carolina, but hurricane Helene hit that area two days before we were going to leave LA to head out there. The livability of that area will be in question for an indefinite period.

So we want to start thinking about other places that are great to live in. I’m intending to play as much good music as possible, in pretty much any style. Here’s what we’d like:
- Mild temperatures - not subzero, not flesh-cooking.
- Natural beauty - forests, wildlife, distance between neighbors, quiet, etc.
- Great music scene - I want to play and see music of all sorts! Jazz, rock, country, disco/funk, experimental, etc.
- Nice walkable restaurant/shopping/public square type areas

And hopefully:
- Good health care (we old!)

There are several "Best places to retire" sites on YouTube; you might start there. Honestly; there are too many variables involved, for ME to tell YOU where to retire. Things that would be deal breakers for you, might not matter much at all to me - and vice versa. I moved to Northeastern Indiana from Las Vegas, Nevada after I retired. There are things I don't like - much - here; but, the things I do like, outnumber them; so... overall? It's a good place - for ME. Might not be, for you though...
So... were I you? I think I'd give some serious thought about what you want from a place to spend your retirement; make a list of those wants - and things you don't want. Then, check those "Best Places..." videos for some ideas - and go from there... :thumbsup:

Hudson, NY. Columbia County hits the right rural-but-lively mix for me, right on the train, close enough to the city for when the $ is right, less than an hour from the Capital District, super vibrant music and arts scene—especially during the summer. And it’s Upstate New York, come visit during September or October and you’ll see why people stick around.
