Where to Begin

Well, this week I bit the bullet and got myself a little bass.
This is what I got:

Brice Prestige Z Neck-Thru 6 String Bass
Fender Rumble 60 Amp
Korg Toneworks PX4B Pandora Effects Processor
Boss RC-20XL LoopStation w/ footswitch

I'm looking for some good recordings to start learning. I'm interested in Jazz, Gospel, R&B, and solo bass to begin with, and I want to learn both slap and fingering techniques. Any ideas on good starting points?

P.S. Some of my favorite guys: Marcus Miller, Anthony Jackson, Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, Michael Manring, Bunny Brunel, John Patitucci, Tony Levin, Gary Grainger, Jaco Pastorius

It may sound like a cop-out, but find a good teacher. Tell him all that you've told us and that you want to learn reading music rather than tab... you're not going to get away with tab for jazz.

Edit: if your post is for real, that is. You bought a six string as a first bass, with a loopstation?
