I have a 62 jazz bass RI, but the headstock decal was broken,I want to find a nice waterslide to repair it, but I don't know which one is better, please help
You can find them all over eBay, but they are actually very easy to make. You can buy "waterslide" paper for your inkjet printer and print your own decal. Trim it and apply it yourself. You can shoot some nitro over it by buying a rattle can of it from Stew Mac.
thank you , you are very kind, is there more experience of buying a nice waterslide? same as the original's
you guys should pm this info. thats how these sites end up getting pulled. i have purchased decals from one of the places mentioned as well as his previous website (the prior had to get taken down) and have been very satisfied.
Oops.. I never even thought of that either! You'd think they would be able to do a search on google and find them pretty easily if they wanted to...
Hate to be a Johnny come lately but can't you get a decal from an authorized Fender dealer if you have an original instrument? Maybe Fender has changed its policies but I remember years ago when a friend of mine inherited a Fender Mustang that had been stripped and stained and thus had no decal. We went to the local music store and he got a decal from the luthier when he had proof of needing it for a legit purpose, refinishing the Fender.
theres so many different decals that if youre restoring a specific year, fender probably doesnt offer the right decal to match your instrument. the decal that was correct for my bass wasnt even being offered from the decal maker i bought it from but he made it up for me and now offers it.
