Where to find rare basses?

Does anyone have any tips on how to find rare basses?
Right now I'm looking for a Fender Modern Player Short scale Jazz Bass, before I was looking for a Schecter Diamond-J, no luck with either.

Keep checking the usual suspects: TB classifieds, eBay, Reverb, GC used, etc.

My best suggestion mirrors @Warpeg 's recommendations. I have seen things pop-up in TalkBass Classifieds and Reverb I never thought I'd see on the used market.

I recommend setting up Keyword Alerts in TalkBass Classifieds so you get an email as soon as someone posts one for sale.

Add your items to your Reverb Customized Feed so you get a notification whenever a new one is posted. If/when you spot one of your desired basses, place them on your Watch List, so you will be notified of price reductions or sales.

All basses appear on Reverb or eBay at some point. It's a matter of patience and search notifications.
