What exactly do you mean? Most extensions are on four string basses, lengthening the fourth string to a C. Are you talking about adding a string? Then you mean a five-string conversion. Either way, there is no cheap solution.Hey I was wondering were one can get a fifth string extension cheaply, that will not break my uprigh bass neck. without hiring the luthier to make one for me, which are very expensive.

We often joke in the section about putting an extension on my low B string to get the G. I'm thinking it might disrupt ELF (exteme low frequency) communications with submarines in the Atlantic.

Well, it only goes down to A, but as yet Pirastro doesn't see a market for extra long B-V's!
