Where to post for sale?

One would think it'd be just as easy to give positive feedback, as negative... recently, I took the time to call both a fast-food chain supervisor and their corporate office, mentioning one of their employees, and what a good job she did that day... don't worry... I call in for the negatives, too. You have to wonder if the TB transaction wouldn't have gone well, would they have given negative feedback, or ignored that, as well...?

I've bought and sold here, eBay, reverb, and craigslist.
For big things I'd rather not ship or can't ship, I've had good enough luck with Craigslist. The usual assortment of flakes and what not, but, I've sold everything I wanted to.
Reverb, I've had a huge amount of positive selling experience on. Easy to list, fees are reasonable, and I've sold everything I listed there pretty dang quickly.
TB, I used to have good luck with, but the last few things I tried selling here ended up sitting for a long time. Similar to Bob Clayton's experience, even if the price was lower here than my price on reverb, I generally ended up selling on reverb faster. So, I don't even bother with a supporting membership here (that was the only "perk" I wanted) any longer.
eBay, years ago I had a lot of good buys and sells, but I pretty much avoid the platform entirely now.

There's a few facebook groups out there for bass gear buying/selling/trading, but I haven't yet completed a deal on one of those, so I can't really comment there.

True that. Whenever I ask, I be sure to ask for "honest feedback." And the one time I was the seller, I offered to make things right in case they weren't.

I once had someone imply that I was obligated to leave them positive feedback after a questionable transaction. I chose to not leave this person any feedback.

Edit: I also chose not to report the person to a moderator, so it was truly in their best interest for me to just drop the situation.

... as for the other, probably should be thanking his/her lucky stars, that they've made it that far in life... they're the same ones that get mad at you, for the mistake they've committed... ugh.

I didn't read that into it.
I checked his start date right after reading his post.
OP is fairly new to TB.
He probably just was not aware of the supporting membership requirement.

Welcome to TalkBass!!!!

The vast majority of my gear has come from the TB classifieds. Dealing with this community has been overwhelmingly posotive. I have bought and sold here quite a bit. (My number of feedbacks is lower by far than the number of transactions. I must admit I'm terrible about getting around to posting feedbacks myself.)

That's a shame. I have at least 10 purchases on TB classifieds and have given/received feedback on every single one. I copy the classified link into the Conversation thread so it's easier to locate and give feedback later. I've been super happy with every purchase too, from $40 strap to $100 pedal to $1000+ bass.

As a courtesy, I think it's the fair thing to do.

Over the past few years, I've listed four basses here, on eBay and on Reverb. I got lowball or trade offers here, no offers on eBay and... EVERY one of them was sold on Reverb. The quickest sale took 2 days and the longest took 13 days.
