Where to start between Berklee & Hal Leonard

I have not looked at any Berklee's stuff in years. Back then it was all in standard notation. Not sure if it still is? Do you play from standard notation? If so Berklee writes good stuff. So does Hal Leonard, well Ed Friedland wrote it, Hal Leonard published it. Any thing Ed writes has value IMO.
Both are good, being 100% standard notation something to take into account with Berklee.
