Which 2 Albums Say It All...?

As to recommendations;
Two is not enough, so I'd say "if they really want to know, they should just listen to the music they like and try understand the function of the instrument in the context of that"
Maybe I'd point them towards some players that collectively say a lot about the bass- steve swallow, james jamerson(or maybe anthony jackso, although he quite often sounds real jamerson-ish to me) ,gary willis,paul chambers, scott lafaro,dave holland and maybe tony levin and possibly jeff schmidt.
There's obviously more, but these cover a decent range to start of with without venturing too far into "gimmick land".

For an album: Black Sabbath - "Mob Rules".

But really, you don't need an album, you just need a song.

The Stray Cats - "Elvis On Velvet"

Iron Maiden - "Number of the Beast"

The Smithereens - "Blood and Roses"

KISS - "War Machine"

Anthrax - "Got the Time"

Anyone who doesn't get why you like bass after these songs, must be dead in their soul.

Far too serious a comment. Just interested in folks thoughts on whole albums with great bass.
