Which 4x10 is better? Avatar Vs. SWR

Yes--this is not confirmed data but from what I have read the 2512's Avatar uses increase xmax but not xlim (which is dangerous; less distortion as a cue to failure) and sacrifices a lot of midrange sensitivity to get it. I'll try to find a thread but someone measured one and it was substantially different from the stock 2512 II's in pretty much every respect.

I owned a GIII and have owned/played through quite a few other SWR cabs... never been crazy about their particular voicing (clear, but not hefty), though I was surpised by the Golight. I think Avatar is more natural for low mids bump rock.

I actually had huge reservations about pulling the trigger on a Megoliath. It turns out it's the bomb.

This is tough for me to say because I had an Eden 410XLT and now I use an Avatar 212NEO and I have to say I prefer the tone of the Avatar over the Eden. So the whole Avatar being cheaper would have nothing to do with my decision. I've actually been wanting to pick up an Avatar 410 as well just havnt yet.

Two different configurations. I prefer a 212 over a 410 myself. I would consider bypassing a 410 and instead adding another 212.
I would also tend to lean towards the Avatar 410 over the SWR, but the bang-for-buck (600 or less) winner in a 410 roundup might be the Carvin BRX10.4.
