Couldnt comment on the Ashdown, but I previously owned the Ampeg and it was a great practice amp.
Thing got good tone, it was reliable, and it had a line out which was pretty cool if you want to hook it up to a PA system.
It was pretty heavy so you gotta be able to carry it. It was also not great at getting tone at louder volumes, but as a practice amp I loved it. I might get another in the future for practice home purposes.
