Hello everyone:

I own a MusicMan StingRay 5 HH. I have some money available, about 2000 U$.. Which bass would you buy with this budget? knowing that I own a MM.. thanks! videos, reviews, everything is accepted!!

I have a Sterling HH... I'd so a big Al or Fender P bass, totally different sounds. I can get close to a jazz with my HH. You need a P based round tone for sure.

No one can answer that question for you. Why? Simply because we don't know what you like, what/who you listen to, generally only you know you. For $2000 you have plenty of room to play with. But if your a MM fan why would you want anything else? They are great basses. Playing Bass is not like guitar where you needed a ton of them for different songs with different sounds.

My bass is 5 string, for a start.
Second, yes a need different sounds!! other than MM.. It is an excellent sound, slap couldn't be better.. I love it.. but for jazzy things is not the greatest sound. I have tested some jazz bass.. But i dont feel like buying one. In the other hand, i would love to hear and play an original precision bass.. but i dont have the option.. what would you do!

Try the new Fender American Deluxe Jazz Basses. They are phenomenal! The neck pup can really nail a P-Bass tone better than any previous generation of Jazz Basses, they have a passive/active toggle switch, are incredibly well constructed, and I am in love with the new N3 pickups and the new preamp design. The 5'ers kill too...the neck shape is killer. For the style of music you are seeking a bass for, I think this would be a perfect fit. My 2 cents.

If I had that money to spend on a bass right now, it would be a toss-up between two EBMM basses: Big Al 5 SSS or Reflex 5 HSS. Both are Swiss Army Knife basses... they can do ANYTHING. Active/passive, any combination of pups selectable via a pushbutton system, and of course the EBMM electronics and build quality, which IMHO are hard to beat.

FOr $2k, why limit yourself to one bass?
You could go used and add a whole bunch of good stuff to your arsenal.

G&L L2000, Lakland 44-01, Fender USA P-bass. You could quite possibly land all 3 of these and stay on budget.

OR what about a custom job? There are plenty of excellent luthiers around who could build you a VERY nice bass for around $2000.
