Which cab with the Eden WT800 ?

With what I might consider a "warmer" head like the Eden (I play a WT405) I would go with a midrangey cab like my Schroeder. The Eden really tames the "honky" nature of Schroeder cabs.

play4zero: This is an interesting post. I have seen the bassist for Ben Harper have his Eden cabs (410 I think) pointed in towards the the band (like a side-fill), rather than pointed out towards the crowd. Basically turned sideways and placed near the edge of the stage. I wonder if this is because of the projection issue. In my experience, I have found that 212s project better than 410s, but each one is different.

The 410 is more efficient than the 212 by 3db and yet it is quieter on stage than the 212. I was recording the night I switched cabs out because the bartenders were complaining that they were getting beat to death and the 212 is audibly louder on the recorder than the 410 at the exact same settings, yet the bartenders stopped complaining.

On another occasion I used my 410 and daisy chained it to an SWR Goliath III that was sitting around and got multiple complaints that I was playing too loud and even too loud to take the PA up where the band could compete. Next time around I took the 212 and stacked it on top of the GIII, but without daisy chaining it to the G3 and it was as loud for me as the 810 setup. The sound guys said it was the best rig they'd ever heard, and the singer said he actually had to bring me up in his Avion.

That said, I love the 410 as my first choice overall Eden cab, but if you're doing a lot of work where you have PA support, the sound guy will love you more with the 212.
