Just call me old fashioned (or just old ) but, I really like the traditional Tolex cover hardshell cases, especially the rectangular Fender style cases. I personally dislike the moldy (I mean molded plastic) hardshell cases. I think it would be great for more companies to offer case options for their instruments. A few online, direct sales companies do provide those options. Just a thought. ;)

Well, maybe; but the old school flat cases sure are easy to store. And that's mainly what I use cases for, anyway...
That’s certainly the case (no pun intended) - that’s why it depends on your needs. To me, cases are of little use, as I never store basses in them, and they’re far too heavy and cumbersome to use for transporting basses to rehearsals and gigs. My MONO cases have room for more stuff, protect better and weigh less. YMM, as always, W.

Lovin the lightweight Road Runner "soft" case. Basses are stored hanging on wall hooks so only used when leaving home and able to always top load. Lighter than the old tolex cases I had before, only had to make a small mod to fit my short scales in them. I got them on sale off Evil-bay I think, 2 for 1 price.
