Which chords for progressive rock ?

I'm looking for some chords for a 4 strings bass, and for playing progressive rock, like Yes, Genesis... Any idea ?

I would suggest using as many of them as you can.
But make sure you play in the key of asia minor.

This is one of those questions without an answer my friend. If you like that music, dig in and learn to play what your influences are. You will build upon that as you grow.
There are no "prog chords", sorry.

try lots of augmented, diminished, and altered dominant chords...
dont forget to invent your own...

Diminished chords, add9 chords, and suspended chords are great. I also recommend playing around with the harmonic and melodic minor scales.

It's hard to really recommend progressive rock chords. Prog rock tends to be defined by odd time signatures, riffed-based, counter-melodies, and often has song structures that vary from the familiar verse-chorus-versr-chorus-bridge-chorus patterns (and other similar structures).

If you really want to get a feel for prog rock, I recommend grabbing a music theory book and some sheet music or tabs from some of the great prog rock bands. It might also be in your interest to look at the works of some classical composers, like Bach or Stravinksi.

I definitely recommend Rotosound Swing 66s for Progressive Rock. They were used by King Crimson, Yes, Rush, and many other Prog bands of the 60s/70s.
