Musical genre aside, it's just a matter of personal preference. If you have no preference, it would be a good idea to go out and play through as many various bass amps as possible, so you can aquire that preference.

How about a Genze-Benze Shuttle 6.2-Combo? I used one for Rock/Metal/Blues... The thing ROCKS!!!

I got an MB212 when they were fairly new. Mine had rattling noises -- which is not un- typical, apparently. Maybe they've ironed out more production problems in the year since I bought it.
Anyway, there was nothing serious wrong with mine, the local tech simply tightened every screw and bolt on it, and now it works fine.
At the bargain price I payed, it puts out a helluva sound. However, I'm not expecting it to last forever like an Ampeg or something.
