Which finger do you pop with?

Before this gets dirty, which finger do you pop with?

I am exclusively using my middle finger but i don't know if it is the right technique.

I use my middle primarily and first finger rarely. There is no right or wrong technique.

Index and middle, mainly index though.

However my slap technique is terrible, I see guys like MarloweDK and people like that make it look so simple.

I almost always use my index finger, though on occasion I use my middle. I used my middle a lot when I was learning, as it was too painful to use my index, lol.

Usually I pop with my pinky or third finger....... slap with the edge of my thumb on my right hand

I pop all of my fingers, but what gets me is when people pop there neck!! Oh wait, I think I just walked into the wrong room.

this is actually a conflict in my technique that Im trying resolve actually.
recently I started using a double thumb instead of a slap technique. so now my thumb position is sort of similar to Marcus Miller or Marlowe.
But now with my hand at this angle I find it hard to get my fingers in a comfortable position to pop affectively.

i tend to use my middle finger, but im not much of a slapper. then again.. i hold picks with my middle finger (and thumb), i shoot guns with my middle finger, etc. it tends to be more dominant. so maybe im just weird.

What I really need to work on is my double slap.

I typically use my middle finger when I'm popping 2 strings away from where my thumb hit, but I have small hands and the extra bit of reach comes in handy. If I'm popping the next string, I'll typically use my index finger. I haven't really run into instances where I needed to pop with my ring finger.

index and middle, saw a guy once who could do triple popping with his ring finger in conjunction with the other two...really cool sound.

I use both! For double-popping, that is.
I THINK I use my first finger, but really it's whatever finger ends up there. I don't really put thought into it and don't have a bass nearby to experiment. I think both fingers work equally though.

Im having problems popping the D and G strings when double thumping on E....

it seems that my fingers are never set up in position to pop because i have to move my thumb out of the way

Depends on how many pops I'm doing in a row, and what strings I'm on. My index finger feels most natural, but I can & do pop with my middle and ring fingers, also.
