Which finger do you pop with?

Im having problems popping the D and G strings when double thumping on E....

it seems that my fingers are never set up in position to pop because i have to move my thumb out of the way

I have the opposite problem. When I'm thumpin, I find it easier to pop on a string further away. So if I thump on the E, G is very easy for me, D is easy too, A not so much. Thumpin then poppin on the same string...yeah that's really tricky for me.

I think it's cause I have fairly large hands. When I thump, my fingers naturally are pretty far away from my thumb so it's easy to bring them up to pop.

Oh and primarily, I use my index to pop. Just recently started developing my double pop technique though so I've been using my middle finger too.

I use my index when popping the string over, and my middle when skipping over a string to do octaves. But a lot of the time it'll get mixed up and i'll be popping octaves with my index and the next string over with my middle. :hiding:
