I'm surprised no one recommended the Fusion 550. No one wants tubes in their GK?![]()
I leave the contour set to zero.Any thoughts on the 1001 or 2001?
You could buy the GK 2001rbp preamp for $299 and purchase a seperate power amp.
Don't recommend that. I got one at a discounted price. It stopped working, and I got it repaired under warranty, only to have it quit again AFTER warranty.
I'm not one for separate pres and power amps, anyways![]()

No "inherent" flaws in the 800RB since ever (and pretty much unchanged in over three decades). The main flaw is people trying to run a 4 ohm cab from the "high" amp, a 2 ohm load from the "low" amp and people trying to run both amps into one cab.
Mr Gallien's user name here is rag.
An 800RB blowing once is unusual, after visiting the factory in California....unheard of?
thanks, well I don't know what to tell you, you've heard of it now. I didn't make the cab mistakes you site either. I had a hartke 2x10 and a 12, used that rig with no problem for a long time. the 2x10 cab started to open up, I tried replacing the speaker wire, but it kept frying. I doubt I can find the paperwork as far as the warrantee goes.
What wire where was frying?
G-K should have records if you registered the unit.![]()
the wires coming from the back of the Hartke speaker cones kept frying, they'd work then cook. replacements would do the same so I gave up replacing them. could be an internal short in the spider? d: I never registered anything with anyone.
