Which is your favorite Ferrari?

A 1995 F1 412T2.

Why?

The sound......

I have stood next to the safety wall 20' from where these were going by at 195 - 200mph. 12 pistons and 48 valves spinning at the 17,000rpm redline! It physically felt like an assault. I didn't have a decibel meter but it seemed like it was as equally loud as a top fueler. The sound... more refined, incredibly perfect pitched, angry, beautiful and even more musical and definitely more spirituall. No earplugs... Just a "s-word" eating grin, my heart racing at 180bpm, and an adrenaline rush I will never forget.

I miss the normally aspirated mid '90's V-12's. As crazy fast and as techie as the newest gen F1 t-cars are, I'll take the insanely beautiful 20 year old red head who's voice torments my soul!

It's probably not really that bad. I'd imagine you do the forward facing bank from inside the car. Removable panel. Would have to be. In any case I don't care. That car is pure sex on wheels. It looks like a naked supermodel reclining on a lounge chair.

If you owned one, it's not like you'd be putting enough miles on it to ever have to change the plus, I guess.

People say that about Ducatis but I do it. Valve check/adjust every year, timing belts every other. Plugs? Whenever they get thin. I use 'em! Maintenance is part of the contract. With the right tools and knowledge it's fun.

If you are in the neighborhood you could show me how to check the valves and change the belts on my Monster. Air cooled, two valve... can't be too hard maybe?

Yeah that was an Enzo. And it's why he hated selling his creations to squids.
Yeah...the dude was some flaky Swedish playboy and he ran from the accident to hide and not take any responsibility. He left his injured buddy to fend for himself. Shortly after that, he spent three years in the penitentiary for unrelated fraud crimes. I do not feel sorry for the guy. I guess he tried to live, Life in the fast lane, but failed.

Ahh, so nice. You might find more recordings here. My benchmarks for F1 are '69 and '70, not that I can remember too many details of those weekends spent at Watkins Glen. Link Removed

I really like the looks of the pre-airbox F1 cars:

'69, US GP:

The sound......

In Montreal, 1992 (maybe '93), for Friday morning practice, they hadn't yet fenced off the fire hydrant just outside of the last turn at the Wall of Champions. We were rushing to get to T1 before the cars started, and happened to notice this small patch by the fire hydrant that was separated from the track by only a single fence, about 5 feet away from where the cars would come closest to the wall. My dad and I watched P1 from here, and the sound of the V12 at full song just a few feet away was incredible. We could barely see the cars because the view was terrible, but you knew what car was coming based on the sound of the engine approaching on the straight. For a short while, we could even tell the cars apart by the difference in their exhaust smell. We departed after P1 for the first turn grandstand where our seats were. When we walked by the space after P2, it was fenced off.

Which reminds me of the time they didn't fence of the Monza banking on Friday morning...
