Which Jazz bass?

The highway one that I played when I was looking seemed to have a real "American" sound and vibe. In the end, it turned me off, because I was looking for something more versatile than a blues/modern rock sound, which was all I could seem to get on it. However, the prices on a HW1 were a lot better than other models.
