I totally agree re: maintenance as a 400+ is huge money to retube! 16 tubes?
Be careful though..... with Mesa, IMO/IME the different amp lines can be completely different beasts.....
As an example, I LOVE the M9, M6, M3 (and my 1982 D180 - predecessor to the 400) but I really did not like the Big Block 750 (very much like the Titan) I owned for a while at all.
Weird... the M9 I own is the best sounding amp I have ever owned (and I have owned lots) but I dumped the BB750 after 2 gigs as I hated the tone.
These amps need to be played at a full volume practice or gig before deciding IME. The BB750 almost turned me off Mesa forever as I hated it that much.

400+ maintenance is not easy/cheap so I'd go for Titan.
