Which multi pedal to get?

Hey everyone,

I recently got the Synth pedal Behringer BSY600 (which I can still return) and was thinking about getting a compressor.....then decided maybe a multi-pedal would be the way to go and I could return the BSY600. So obviously synth and compressor are the main features I'm interested in. (Note that when using the synth pedal I pretty much have 2-3 settings I like and don't play with it any further than that.)

I've been reading about the following 3:
1) DigiTech BP355
2) Zoom B3
3) Boss ME-20B

They all seem to be in the same price range, so I was wondering how they compare. Does anyone have feedback on these? Are any of them way ahead or way behind the others? Are there any others that are in the same price range that I missed and should consider?

(Note that I already have an expression pedal, so that really isn't a factor for me)

I haven't had a chance to try them in person (which I plan to do), but in the meantime I would love to hear what you guys think.

I've had and messed with both a BP200 and the 355. Still own the 200 actually. From my experience with them I would not rely on there compressors. Especially after you try a real compressor and see how amazing they can be on your sound. Aside from that I found really good use out of all the effects and amp simulators they had though so I don't want to discourage you from checking them out. But I wouldn't trust a multi-effects compressor.

Friend of mines has the ME-20B and again really good sounds as far as effects but didn't even mess with the compressors on it because of the above statement.

Im voting for the zoom b3..because I have one..and I like it.
I have owned the boss gt6b which was pretty good..but I ended up gettin rid of it.

check out the zoom b3 threads here and you'll be convinced. .I was sold after readin them anyway.

if you can find a Korg Ax3000b, they are really awesome units.

they have a wonderful synth section, and my favorite envelope filter on the market. excellent modulation, echos, reverb, endlessly programmable, ext.

i did not use the compressor much but i know it's there and i recall thinking it was perfectly useable.

of your listed choices, the boss is the one i'd go with.

As far as compressors, the MS-60B is as good as any of the pedal compressors I've tried, including my Diamond Bass Comp. The amp models are also really good. I haven't spent too much time with the synth patches, but there seems to plenty of tweakability there. I think this pedal would be perfect for the OP.

I have a ms60b as well and I like ALL it had to offer. The dirt selections are the only ones I stay away from but they aren't that bad. Anyway, about your comp and synth, the 60b has great synths and comps. It's the best $80 bucks I've spent in a long time (got it used here on TB). $100 new. The B3 I'm sure has almost everything the 60b does and more in a bigger package with more options and effects. I'd go zoom hands down. They last couple multis they've cons out with have killer IMHO. They really figured it out with the B3, 60b and the 70CDR (chorus/delay/reverb muti). I know that not what you were inquiring about, the 70CDR, but it comes to mind when I think of the 60b. I have a 60b and a 70CDR. They are wonderful pedals.

I have had the me20b two years and love it. The compressor is a little weak but the ones on my amp rock so I use those. But everything else is great. Tons of options. I also like the metal case. I have beat the crap out of it and it takes it without missing a beat.

If you're looking for bass synths, the B3 might well be your only real option. I've been using it live for synth sounds and more normal bass chorus/compression/octave stuff, and for my ears the Boss and Digitech bass pedals don't hold a candle.
