Which one has better quality

Ok, I've heard a lot about the Peavey Millennium 5 BXP and I want it because I think it would sound better than my current bass which is this, http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Squier-MB4-Skull-and-Crossbones-Electric-Bass-Guitar?sku=515227
so if it be at all possible, could someone compare them and give me some differences between them because my dad won't let me get it unless I can come up with a legitimate reason to get a new bass.

I would stick with what you have and upgrade your pickups. Work that 4 string over for a while(year or so) until you out grow its level of playabilty. During the time you are on the 4 string start saving up cash so when you do need a new bass with better features, you will know what you want as opposed to what you think you want.

OK, I've had this bass since June 2005 and I don't really know what you mean by "out grow its level of playability." All I know is that it was fine at first but it just doesn't have the sound I want, but if changing the pickups will help thats cool. What kind would you suggest for playing mostly rock music?

It's a relatively new bass, if it plays well and your not in a band yet then you don't need a new sound. It has a p/j configuration so i'm pretty sure it has a good enough rock tone, my peavey just has one p and has a good rock sound. If you want a new bass i recommend saving up for it with your own money then then you will buy it, not daddy. Also if you are going to buy one go to the store first and check them out to see what sound you want, there's no use in buying from the internet if you don't know what it sounds like because then you'll end up with another bass you don't like the sound of.
