Which Peavey Cirrus 5?

I am thinking about getting a Peavey Cirrus 5 string. I play Country music. I don't know which wood version to get. So I'm posting a poll for you all to vote and voice your opinions.

I kinda hope this thread doesn't get loaded with pictures. The only thing I have the slightest bit of GAS for right now is a Cirrus 5 and, like an idiot, I posted here and am now subscribed.

Having several wood combos, I find the maple on alder with a pao fero fingerboard to be my favorite.

All of them share the "Cirrus sound" with subtle differences. However if I had to choose one, I´d go with the Redwood version (not listed in your poll). IMHO, it´s the most beautiful one.

I'm gonna go against the trend and vote Claro Walnut I prefer darker woods textures.

In any case, they are all very pretty!

Maple and redwood have the alder core. Bubinga and walnut have walnut cores.

Super sweet sounding bass, and I think, looks the nicest of all. Thats the one I was gassin for. I need to get off this post now, before I start my Cirrus gas up again.

I gots the Walnut. Why? Because that's what was up for sale on TB at the time (thanks Jerry Ziarko). I'd love to have one of the other wood combinations as a second, though.

I have a redwood/alder currently. It has a really nice overall tone, but to me, it's hard to beat the sound of the walnut. It's thick with great definition and top end. I have heard the maple in a country setting. (my bud uses one) Very nice indeed, but my choice would still be the walnut.

Well, I've only played a bubinga and one other that I don't think is an option here. Was it wenge? Anyway, the bubinga knocked me out, so I voted for that.

I didn't vote in the poll because I've never played one.

I vote for the Redwood though because there is one that's supposed to show up at my door step Tomorrow!

Now, I just have to find a way to break it to my wife...oops.

The wenge ones were pretty cool, too, but I don't think they make them anymore. I could be wrong, though.

Nope. You're right. They were only featured for a year or two before wenge got to be too expensive and rare.

Actually the bubinga is just a thin top over a standard walnut body and neck. I have heard a bubinga in a music store, and to my ears it sounded like my walnut.

i voted walnut in the pole, but after that series of pics i have to change my mind and go with walnut....looks hot! does peavy make any cirrus basses with maple boards?

Are the cirrus oiled finshed or are they waxable D:?
