which Peavey Millennium?

I've had several of each (as well as the similar Fury models), and don't think the AC has a significant advantage if you have a decent amp. The one downside of the AC is that battery life is on the order of 24 hours. If you leave the guitar plugged in the battery will need replacing the next day (two days if you use premium batteries).

Huh? I own one. I have changed the batteries once since last December!

Why would you leave your guitar plugged in?

I am partial to the passive models. Heck, passive basses in general. Amps have preamps, mixing boards work wonders and PA's are loud already....Active to me is more $, needlessly.

Now,fans of active basses, put down the torches and pitchforks...

This is what works for me. Active basses cost more, make me sound worse and need batteries. There are also more things to go wrong with an active bass. Passive basses sound just as loud in a band setting. And since I hack away at my basses in a 12x18 room.....

My vote is for the passive Millenium. And I will back that up one day soon as one is high up on my "GAS" list.
