It's that look you can either dress up or dress down, and I like being able to see the pickup. The tort just looks too dark and busy.

Being a complete spoiler, I think a mint green PG would be great on this bass.

I agree. I just put a mint pickguard on my surf green Telecaster and I think it cosmetically transformed it. I could not stand the stock black pickguard.

Maybe try mint. But between your two choices, I think the gold looks much better.

If the bass had a rosewood fretboard, I'd say "tort".

But with the maple fretboard, I think the anodized gold looks better.

Always tort… unless the neck is maple, then it’s white, or gold. That’s my humble opinion.

With that darker maple board, I prefer the gold anodized. The tort looks fine, and would be excellent with a rosewood board. But with that maple, go for the gold...
