Which pic is maple, which is rosewood?

On my crappy home monitor, the second option looks right, but it's close to a coin toss. Plus that white box on the floor is in a different position in pic 2. Or is it pic 1. Hmmm.

I'm not sure about the pictures but I think the first sound clip sounds like maple and the second rosewood. This is purely based on what I've read of the differences.

Wow! I've been waiting for months for someone to expend the effort to put together a comparison like this. I've always wondered how different a maple and rosewood board would look if someone could somehow track both down and put them side-by-side--but to be honest, the very idea of having them together in the same room scared the heck out of me. Kinda like mixing matter and antimatter. The whole universe could explode.
