Looking to buy my first Sadowsky. (Metro, but you've got to start somewhere right?;))

Just for fun, which colors do you all prefer?

(I dig the trans. blue, but FWIW, I already have a trans blue-ish maple FB bass)

My first choice is SB, but a close second is Oly White. I want nothing to do with blue, green, or black basses, just my own POV. Natural is ok, but a little too common IMO. SB is common too, but always tasty.

Are you definitely going for maple or morado fingerboard?

The T Blue looks awesome with the maple board, but personally I'd switch the pearloid guard for a parchment guard (or better yet go Standard - no pickguard - instead of Vintage).

If you're going morado, that Sonic Blue is really gorgeous, and relatively rare.

Both of my Metro's were '59 burst, as is my NYC, and if you're into the more traditional vibe, you can't go wrong. Personally I like the tort guard with either fingerboard choice (maple board Metros come with mint green pickguard, so if you want a tort guard you have to buy one).

I've never been a fan of Natural. Too "bare" for my tastes.

If I go Sonic Blue, I'll get rosewood.
Trans. Blue: Maple
59 Burst: Maple or Rosewood
Natural: Maple

I have a 55-94 in trans blue/teal with maple, so I'm kind of leaning towards a rosewood board to change things up a bit.
I like a normal to slightly bright bass at times, but I hear the sadowsky pre can add some nice zing with a twist of the treble knob quite well.

Actually the Morado boards on the Metros I find to be very snappy and leaning more towards a maple tone than say a Brazilian or Indian rosewood board. Certainly more similar to maple than ebony, which I have on my NYC.

Adding the VTC will give you the additional option of "rolling off the snap" on either the maple or morado boards, if and when you feel the need.

Is morado another name for Pau Ferro? The parts bass I have in process has a pau ferro board because I wanted the maple snap with a more rosewood look.

The Sonic Blue one I'm eyeing is a rosewood board.

Though natural is my first choice for myself personally (I voted natural here as well), the trans blue is hot and is a very close runner up for me. In fact, there was trans blue NYC with a quilted top that I was gassing over heavily a few weeks ago. I'm glad I can't afford a new sadowsky as that bass would have bankrupted me.

I think my next NYC bass will be Trans Blue w/ Pearloid PG (that is a gorgeous combo). I am not a fan of the 59 burst and I agree the natural is too common. The Sonic Blue is kinda cool as well - definately a unique color.

Both blues would be best with maple fb; however, the Sonic could look good with rosewood.

The Oly white w/ Tortoise PG is also a nice look (very classic) if you opt for the "rosewood" fb.

But in the end, it's all good.
