Which string lube do you use & why??

I am looking to switch brands and would like other opinions about which string lube you think is superior......

well, i'm trying to inject a touch of humour, and i'm also now curious as to what "string lube" is, and what it does.

No worries Most "lube" products are designed to clean your strings while leaving them with a "fast" kind of feeling. Imagine if you could what it would feel like of wiped your strings down with a thin layer of WD40 (obviously WD40 isnt good for wood, but you get the point right??)

Seems like that would make them slippery and that my fingers would fly off of them...

I have been using Fast Fret since it pretty much came out. I also don't wipe off the strings after I apply it.

I used to use FF, but I always hated the application process. I switched to something called "Finger Ease". Its an aerosol. I usually spray the fret board down, then wipe the strings and board down with it. I am thinking there has to be a good lube product that "cleans" the board and strings that is not an aerosol.

I used to use finger ease years ago. If my memory serves me I think part of why I stopped using it was that it felt more "wet" and I didn't really like that. One of the guitarists in my band has some in his junk bag so I will definitely try it out tomorrow and report back. I really use it more for the cleaning the oils off the strings.

That is one of the main reasons I use "lube" as well.........however, I do like the wet feeling on the first few notes of the night......it eventually wears off

I used fast fret mainly to clean my strings and fingerboard then I realized I could get a giant bottle of formby's lemon oil or other similar lemon oil and achieve the same results.

I've had the exact same bottle of formby's lemon oil for about 4 years now.
