Appreciate everyone's input, gives a lot to think about. I will discuss with the luthier when I stop by tomorrow.

This bass is being built by Dan Ransom (built basses for Alembic and Modulus, as well as others), he is a true pro so I'm sure he'll have his opinion as well.
He's known around here too, and @JIO has used him on a number of neck builds. :thumbsup:

Dan has made many custom necks for me starting with this J neck from 12yrs ago. He also made one of Entwistle's prototype "Buzzard" necks. He has a funny story related to hanging with the Ox at NAMM around that time.

That's awesome, Dan is a great guy, super humble too. I first reached out to him about a build many years ago but never got it started until now!

I played one of his basses a long time ago and wanted one since
