Which will be louder?

I have a little giant 1000, which is 2x500w 4ohm amp and 2 8ohm cabs.

Which would be louder? Running the cabs into one side(500w 4ohm) so they run at 4ohms producing full 500w

or

running each 8 ohm cab through the seperate outputs so each is still 8 ohms and doesn't draw all 500, but uses both outputs?

someone told me that the cabs will run about 300 - 350w at 8ohm, which is a total of 600 -700w. Is this correct?

No difference. Either way, each cab gets 250w.

The amp will probably be better if you run both sides.

Most amps produce something more than half their 4Ω output at 8Ωs, so running one out of each side would be louder. Louder enough to notice a difference? Probably not.

Just make sure you turn it to 11 to get maximum volume.

No. You can wire it for 2ohm or 16ohm

I take it your poweramp does not run bridged into 4ohms, because that would be the optimum way to run it if it is capable

The Little Giant 1000 cannot be bridged, it is two seperate 500w 4 ohm outputs.

thats unfortunate. I think you are probably better off running each cab from a separate side of the amp at 8ohms. you should get slightly more power per cab that way, but like the guys have said, I doubt if there will be any audible difference

I've tried it this evening, running through seperate outputs is much louder, sounds amazing!!
