Hi all,

Does anybody out here know anything about a "white" version of the old (70's) Gibson Grabber?

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Someone is selling a Grabber, satin transparent maple with a white pickguard as being a rare "white" version. Not that the rare-ness is very important to me but it's just a weird story somehow and there's not much info I can find on it.
It is true I've never seen any Grabber/Ripper/G3 with a white guard but who knows it's not supposed to be an actual white finished bass in those shipping figures?

Thanks, Bob.

I think it's probably supposed to be a white finished bass in the shipping figures. They did have a white finish available on other guitars/basses then, but I've never seen a white guard on a grabber bass. For that matter, it's pretty uncommon that I see a tort guard like the one that I have so maybe they're out there but fairly well hidden (given that only 58 were produced). But, that means that this one, if it was white/white, it was probably refinished. Or, conversely, the white guard is a replacement. Then again I could be wrong and this could be 100% up to snuff.

Thanks Coreyfyfe, to bad the pics are dead, would love to have seen one. The silverburst sounded very promising also!

Anyway, I know now that white is supposed to be actual white as in painted white, not transparent with a white guard. That makes the bass I've seen for sale a very common Grabber and I would rather wait till I find a black one.

Thanks all.
