White Horse

Hi everyone (that reads this) .
I've been looking online at Gear4music, particularly at their own 'premium' quality White Horse guitar and bass amps.
As I live to far to visit a store to play one in person, I was wondering if anyone owns one themselves or has played one in the past, and if so, would you recommend them ?

IIRC, Gear4Music has been making significant inroads in other areas aside from amps; I seem to recall reading some reviews on their saxophones that were quite favourable (taking into account the pricepoint, of course).

Basically, they're selling rebranded, el cheapo Chinese stuff. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing, either; supposedly their horns are quite decent, given the price that is paid.

The question you need to ask yourself is, are you the kind of guy who'll make do with an el cheapo rig that does the busines basically okay for the price that you paid; or are you the kind of guy who demands the best from himself, from those around him, and from his gear?

I personally fall well within the latter group; but if you're in the former, that don't bother me none, and it ought not bother you.

That list doesn't leave me very stunned at all. Even if they were good, nothing they have would suit my needs.

35W single 10" combo
50W single 10" combo
80W single 12" combo
150W single 15" combo
500W single 10" combo

No website. No real info. Some kind of store brand... a review says they've sourced a "reliable Chinese manufacturer. A quick google gives me the impression that they are rebrands or copies of various other gear. (Somebody copying Behringer? Now that'd be a bit of irony.)

Maybe they're OK, maybe not. I wouldn't touch it even if they made something that caught my fancy. Too many other reputable, reliable options available to bother with a cheap chinese knock-off of other manufacturers' cheap chinese-built amps. (Even if they are possibly built by the same factory. Something just smells funny about that.)

If the price is tempting you, buy used.

My friend has a White Horse 60watt half stack, it buzzes all the time. Personally I'd avoid. I myself have both a gear4music bass and bass amp, however for £90ish, and you're first ever bass it's not bad at all. Still got them, still work fine.

But I agree, there are more reliable options out there.
