White music man pickup cover

music man covers are glued or waxed on. Not as simple as pulling the cover off.

Heat gun? I'd try that before boiling my pick up.

I did paint my original pickup but it looked terrible. The paint was to thick and made the pickup to big for the pickup hole

I recently changed the cover to white on my '95 Sterling, but it was a challenge to do it with the pup connected. In that year, the magnet was glued to cover so it took some effort to score and cut through glue without damaging the wire.

The vinyl option sounds cool, would be awesome to see some pics when done!

It didn't come out bad and from 10 feet away you'd never notice it's not white originally.

It looks like it could use a little more heat to shrink it closer. It does look good though.

I agree. It took me forever to get the holes right so I ordered a 3/8 hole punch and made a template of the pup then went from there. I didn't wrap the sides b/c it was tight getting it through the pickguard.

I pulled pup and decided to paint it instead. The wrap was ok but not close enough and paint was easier. I just went light with the paint.

View attachment 5488338I painted and hydro dipped my ebmm sterling. I'd like a white pup cover but music man doesn't offer them. I know this b/c I damaged the existing pup and had to have it replaced and I asked cs then if then had white. Any ideas?

Several years ago while i still own the Ray4 and Ray5, i been asking Donlis make their Alnico V pup with white cover, and they did after that.
