Who all here uses Carvin amps?

I have a B1500....sweet amp especially for the price. I have considered getting another one. My 'go to' rigs are typcally big tube amps, but the B1500 will drive the crap out of a quad of 8Ω 15/6 cabs for a combined impedance of 2Ω at a potential power of 1900 watts.

The B2000 is intriguing, but I'm still a young lad and the heavier weight of the B1500 doesn't bother me.

BR610, but trying to sell it.

It's a lot of amp for the money, and used to drive my 15". I never had to use the graphic eq, as the parametric did the trick for the most part. The compression is nice, as is the scoop knob.

I bought the Avatar SB112 and the MB10 really drives it nicely. They’re both blue an make for a cool looking mini-stack.

I played a Carvin PB-500 head and a 4x10 cab for about 20 years. I wanted something lighter and easier to carry last year, so I got a BX615 combo last year for a steal when they discontinued them.

They are both awesome amps!

I've been playing through a PB500 for about 20 years now. It's my big, heavy amp head. I run it bridged through a Carvin 18" speaker , or a 15" Dietz speaker. Has always worked like a charm, and never even broken a sweat.

I have a BX1200. Been using it since 2006. Great amp! Tons of power/great tone. have used it on many, many gigs with no problems.

BX500 right here baby, haven't had any issues with mine at all. I run my VT bass deluxe through the effects return and use it as a killer power amp for my 2x15's. Couldn't be happier...unless i had a REAL SVT lol

RL1000 rig. Preamp is blown so I use a SansAmp.

Carvin offers great value for money and if there is something that I need I go to them first.

Well, Carvin already got your money for the amp; you’re not hurting them by selling it, just yourself, especially since they don’t typically have a good resale value.

Yeah, that was basically what I was getting at. If the OP wants to make a point to Carvin, I don't see how selling the B800 is going to accomplish that.

But it's no big deal; it's the OP's dime and the OP's choice either way. My own experiences with Carvin have been very good, but I can certainly see why the OP would have been upset with the situation described.

I get what you guys are saying and that's what I've ultimately decided. I was always VERY proud of that amp and would talk it up without hesitation. "What are you playing?" "I'm playing a CARVIN B800! Best amp I've owned so far." Now, I have a bad taste in my mouth about the bass. I would still like to get a B2000. Maybe I'll just stick with the amps.

I have used a Carvin Pro Bass 150 10" combo since 1992. It blew the fuse about a year ago. 19 years of use and 1 fuse blown. That's a pretty solid testament to reliability.

Man The bx500 and BRX210Neo that I have make me Happy! They sound great ! I use Lakland Basses through this setup and it gets the job done. Other people seem to like it too!

Over the last 20 + years I've owned 2 Carvin amps a Peavey ( never again) and an old Kustom combo to start as a kid. The Carvins I had were the PB200 with 2x15 circa 1986 and a B1200 Power amp driving either a 2x10 Carvin cab with the 2x15s or later the 2x10's and 1x18.

I've liked Carvin power and service quite a bit over the years and have always found my sound fast with their gear. Having said that my next rig is going to be TC Electronic RH 750 with combo or cabinet(s) to be determined.

Sweet rig!! That’s gotta be around 1100 watts going into the Uber?

Cabinets - yes (4x10)
Power amps - yes (DCM2000)

I tried their preamps and HATED the tone, finally settled on a SansAmp preamp.

I say I do, but I am quickly becoming a TC Electronics convert. If Carvin had a built in tuner I probably stick with them, but the B and R series TC stuff is pretty dang slick.

The TC built in tuner is ok if you're satisfied with "close enough", but when I had one, I would tune with it and then plug in my Peterson and my bass would still be a little out of tune. I stopped relying on the TC built in tuner.
