When I change the order of my diminutive pedal chain, I feel obligated to update.

Wouldn't touch this poll with a Who Are You? poll. Any poll, as a rule, I'll most often pass on, unless I'm being paid for my input. Is this an X gen trait, you may ask. Who knows.
What a world we live in. Choice. Do we really need a cheat sheet, to be social and supportive?
I doubt that I've ever read the OP's. I could probably count those I have, on one hand — so I've read less than four 
But we do get to know each other, in the end That's life. The curious ask questions. Being decidedly 3D and rooted in the twentieth century, there's very little crossover, for me. Don't do the tinderish. Don't see the point. I mean to say, what if I become a Jedi, or a drummer? It's possible. Too late, kitty. …

And, anyway, here, advice is received by reading, not writing. By browsing and sometimes joining in, sharing — when there's something positive to share — all my questions get answered. Wisdom is exchanged. No real need to ask for it, most of the time. The gospel, according to Tom

I once answered the "How did you start playing bass?" question.
I've occasionally mentioned my location when asked if I've written about a certain repair shop or gig situation in this city.
Without actually revealing my age I have sometimes mentioned the year I started guitar, then bass, then got my first electric, was in my first serious band, etc.

I've shared info because identifying as a commercial user makes it pretty obvious who I am. This is the only web forum where I'm not anonymous.
Things come up more when someone from an unusual area asks a question. We had a poster recently from Jakarta, Indonesia asking about basses. People were telling him, among other things, to go to Guitar Center. There were other assumptions being made, lots of them, that were inappropriate, because even after the OP made things more clear, no one was reading his additional posts.
A lot of the BS that went on in that thread would have been circumvented if he'd had his location visible.

I like long walks on strawberries. I’m in fanbeat magazine. My favorite color is not yours. I drive an electric car as that makes me better than you. I’m a vegan type person because of cruelty to animals and the environment. I’m ignorant of the fact that a lot of my soy is cause for deforestation of the Brazilian Rain Forest.
My bass is made of a slab of meat so no veggies are injured.
I won’t turn on my amp because it uses electricity. I won’t go to gigs because that’s polluting. I make methane not meth so I might off myself because of my carbon impact. I definitely have to get off the internet because electricity.
I won’t listen to records because vinyl matters.
What else do you need to know?
If in this comedic tome I offended anyone though that was my intention get over it.

I would happily send boxes of the resulting wood chips to anyone who wanted them for free.
