I'd say Les Claypool - but that probably just has alot to do with how photogenic the guy can be.

A close second would be the guy from Linkin Park. Who would've thought industrial strength dB reduction could be so stylish?!

Stu Zender and I HAVE to mention Pino Palladino. I saw him play with D'Angelo, and seeing this tall, lanky guy with this old P Bass, tapping his feet, and bobbing his head was the coolest thing I'd seen in a while!
Also, I saw Rush when I was in the 8th grade, and when they got to the keyboard/bass break in "Tom Sawyer, good lord! Fingers Lee killed it! He looked like a surgeon on stage!

When the jubilee celebrations were on in London last year they held a big concert at buckingham palace and I noticed they had a really geeky looking bass player- later on when they introduced the band it was none other than Mr Pino so he would definately get a vote- Just got hold of the best of brothers johnston and the pictures of Louis
and his brother are amazin so he gets a vote too.....

No, JT, I think he was actually asking you the question - he wants to know how can you not look cool with a doubleneck 7 string fretted/fretless? It would seem, it's a challenge not to look cool with one of those beasts, but you pull it off magnificently!
