Who makes a passive Ceramic 5 String PJ set? (Hot output)

Its a real BC Rich (A cheap one) and its a super long story that is probably not that interesting to anyone. Lets just say it involves Juan Alderete, a goofy kid that always liked that shape and a fund raiser.
cool! Ok, so it's like their Bronze series or something then eh? Fair enough - still, with good fret dressing and the pickup upgrade.... I'd probably be very happy with it :-)

Nice

@ctmullins Thank You for help, these are the pickups I'm going to try with for that Lull.

Just to let folks know these are ceramic but the site does not clearly indicate that.

I had a great chat with the boys over (Brian the old owners of BBG) they confirmed it for me.

Fat Bass Tone - Bass Guitar Parts: Pickups, Preamps, Tuners, Bridges &

I have to be honest Dave, I have not had the same exsperiance.

I was a modulus endorser years ago and several Basses with Bart’s. The passive VJs for instance sounded good but very low output.

I an personally attest to that because I had 3 of them.

We also played around with some active passive switching (not standard) on a Q5 with dual coil soapbars and that was on the mellow side as well.

Its around that time that led me to Nordstrand which have more output in general than Bart’s (based on my own experience) and Nordstrands not done in series will still not have enough output for what I’m looking for.

Granted I have tried everything of course...Lol BUT I have only found 2 passive pickups that have the same output as Big Singles wired in series and still using a Pre.

-Dimarzio (Model P and J are just shy of it and perfectly acceptable, but it’s only for 4 strings)

-Lull T Bird humbuckers (same ballpark, but they are big humbuckers)

I’m measuring the gain reduction on my compressor, I can see what coming in, between that and a DB meter.

Cheers

I get ya, man. But we still talk bout that cheap Yamaha bein so powerful. I've played quite a few Bart sets. Yup, not as powerful as some. I play low output basses, and have a pretty good idea of my output limit, tho the G&L I'm using now is awfully hot. (G&L MFD pickups are way strong, another option) But that Yammy was strong, far stronger than many pickups I've tried. I never forgot it. And, wish I woulda bought it, strong or not. Then I'd know what they were. :)

How did these work out for you?
Long story made short…

it never happened with the Delanos.
They where available for a while and to moved on.
To get the lower mis front and keep the articulation I did something different.

I went with the extended range Nordstrand but I had a custom wound and a value capacitor with a passive tone control knob along with my active pre.
After a very minor tweaking this get its.

I meant to thank you for the reply. If I read this right, you got close with Nordstrands?
