Cranked up @Dave Hill 's 750 and Megolioth a few days ago. We were pretty close to the SVT 810 sound. With these settings:

I just picked up a SWR Henry Jr definitely an interesting cab. Doing research on here, everyone describes it's sound differently the cab is simultaneously lacking lows but has heaps of low mid punch, has full lows, has no low kids. To me it's a bit scooped sounding when compared to the Rumble 115 I tried it against. The only thing everyone agrees on is that the speakers are fragile.
Waiting on a '99/'00 Bass 350 to make it's way to me. This find was buried on Reverbs amp listing. I got it for less than I have paid for an instrument case. I had a fender era 350x in high school but was a dumb kid and didn't fully understand how EQ worked. I have a GK 700RBii as my main head and always wanted the SWR 350 non X. any recommendations on SWR brand cabs to check out. I can get a Triad for about 300 but it seems they get some flack. I personally want to find a Big Ben.
Still rocking my 1992 vintage SWR Stereo-800 power amplifier (800 Watts bridged @ 4 ohms) into my Ampeg 810.
Driving it with an Ampeg SCR-DI or Tronographic Rusty Box at the end of my effects chain.
It IS however starting to show its age - over the last few months, I've started get a little bit of 60/120hz hum through the speakers, due to aging power supply caps.
It took 26 years of relatively hard gigging, DJ-ing (12" or 15" mains at 350 Watts per side) and home theater use (powering a pair of 12", 4 ohm sub woofers) for it to get this far.
I'm game at gambling $40-50 worth of caps into it to see how much longer she can go (or someone makes a 200 Watt tube power amp for a non-extortionist amount of $$$).

I had the original redhead and I did love it’s tone. As well documented the speakers weren’t very good. I ended up swapping them out, the head though was a great amp for recording, long gone now but yes, I miss SWR, even with a decent little TH500 Aguilar!
I owned a SuperRedhead combo and a Triad cab for a while. I did a thousand gigs with that setup.
The good. They are indestructible.
The bad. They are heavy. The tone is incredibly "blah". Nothing great about the tone to me. And the head ran hot enough to fry an egg on rat fur.

This is unusual, IMO. "Blah." Everybody else either loves the tone or absolutely detests it. I think you are the first person without a strong opinion about the tone.
I don't know. It wasn't bad. But it wasn't great either. Knowing what I know now I'm wondering if there was some phase cancellation going on between the two cabs. Standing right beside it it was fine. Six feet away or more and it was just anemic.

i heard someone say they burned their finger on the power cord to the amp because it was hot as a dicken
does anyone know what is the real cause of the heat i keeep hearing about with the redhead? i don't have one but I know i like their sound, is there a reason the reviewers repeated heat concerns? and would like to know if there is a solution like a simple fan installation fix it real good no worry aftermath. is it heat sink problem? I would love to get one and have a using amp in today's newer technology if it's better or doesn't matter if you like it or don't it's don't matter except to your taste anyway go for it yay
In answer to your question, Rumbledore: for bigger venues, a Bag End D10B-D (no tweeter) adds just what’s needed to my trusty old SWR Super Redhead… a fan in the single rack space (with a baffle in the back) pushes cool air through the head for the 2-ohm load.

Just about every amp I had made by SWR ran really hot.
I found a battery operated fan with a huge built in clothes pin type thingy to clamp it on to things. I would clamp it to the back of my rack and it would blow straight on the back of the heads and it kept the amp(s) at a much cooler temp.

I've got two GoLight 1x12 cabs that keep me interested in SWR. Just looking for a super clean Bass 350 redface or SM-400s to go with them now.
Who misses SWR? Not me. I had two different, highly-rated combo amps from them. My main recollection is that while they were heavy, at least they couldn't produce a usable tone.
