Ok I did an experiment... I tuned my sonus 4 standard BEAD and played some Latin and merengue and omg it sounded perfect and felt great! My main 4 is my xl2 but I don't feel that I need a fiver anymore after this experience, especially since I didn't once reach for a single g string note. Does anyone else prefer this over getting a five or do this regularly? Maybe I will tune the xl2 down too and see how it sounds !!

Jaco only needed four.

I've been looking (casually) for a five'r. Played everyone that look decent at Sam Ash. Could not find a B string that sounded right. Found a couple that had decent spacing and one with a halfway acceptable radius. But not a B to be had.

The search continues.

The two best b strings I have played were the yamaha patitucci and an mtd Grendel
