Who was that comedian?

I know there are a lot of stand up comedy fans on TB and I have a question for you. In the 90s, who was the comedian with the long hair that used to wear a black Zildjian shirt. The one bit of his I remember was about watching Beavis & Butthead on Spanish language TV and them say "Ha ha ha. Fuego, fuego!"

The reason I ask is I'm pretty sure he tried out that joke on me before he put it in his act. I was working at a gas station in a suburb of Los Angeles when a long haired customer in a black Zildjian shirt told me that joke and cracked me up. For some reason, my memory has it that it was Tom Rhodes?

Tom Rhodes (maybe? No Zildjian shirt there but he did wear t-shirts a lot)

Does he like tuna noodle casserole?

slobake, I know you were/are a backpacker and that's why I find it difficult that you don't, at the very least, have an appreciation for TNC. It's a prime example of the class of food that I like to call camp slop.

Camp slop is a hearty food that's cooked by throwing various things into a single pot (no one wants to emulate Wolfgang Puck, performing all kinds of elaborate food preparation after spending all day on the trail/in the field/on the rocks/whatever). Its main ingredients are carbs (e.g. rice, noodles) and protein. Tuna is an ideal protein due to its low cost.

No. Camp slop is not filet mignon. No. Camp slop is not "presented" like sushi is. No. You would never put Grey Poupon on camp slop but it does meet, in spades, the two criteria that me and my college friends determined were most important after a difficult day on the trail/in the field/on the rocks/whatever:

1. Is it hot?

2. Is there a lot?

So there! :spit:
