Who's play this song?

Greeting from Chile!

I recorded a song on the radio in 1990 more or less, but I've never been able to know who is the band playing. Here I have an mp3 with the 1st part ... the song in total takes about 15 minutes:

In some passages remind a little to Return to forever... but they aren't.

If anyone knows I will be eternally grateful :)

P.S. I apologize for my English, which is not the best, but something you can understand :)

Isn't there an I-phone app that will listen to a snippet of a song, and spit out the artist & title? I don't know if us Android users have access to it ... if so, I'd be interested to know what it's called.

I tried with Shazam, but showed me songs that were not.

Neither yes 'cos i would recognize them inmediatly... i have the discography :)

I went to record stores, I asked in forums, radios, friends and nobody knows who play ...what a mistery!! :)

*do you mean 1980 ;)
It's not Yes, but it does sound Yes influenced... Soundhound has no idea, so I would guess a local band. Kinda late to call the radio station and ask I recon.... either way it's a pretty impressive song.

By the way, how did you get such a good recording from the radio in the 1990s? Did you have like fancy equipment or something?

Also, I would ask on one of the prog forums, someone is bound to know......

Radio still plays music, but no longer jazz or fusion, now it is oriented to the rock-metal and its derivatives...

The complete song (15 min aprox) is very fun to listen, full of changes... in spite of the 15 min it takes.
It was recorded in a single National Panasonic radio-cassette that even I have, like this (picture is not mine)...in deed, also have the tape. That speaks to the the quality of things manufactured before :)

One of my friends already posted it on a jazz rock fusion group on FB. I'll report back if they come up with something.

Thanks @elgecko .

It sounds funny, but this song has become a real mystery, and have more than half of my life without know what group is.
