Who's rocking two fifteens, no tweeters?

I had a single TL606 with a kappalite 3015 non-lf sitting in my house (bought it cheap.... ) and took it to rehearsal space yestertay. DAMN! That Thing pushes equal amounts of air and low end as my full stack with Delta 15a's. damn.

If you need your bass to sound like a cocaine overdose, get tweeters.
Otherwise, they're just silly in a bass amp.

I decided to grab an Ampeg B115e and retrofit it with a kappalite, the TL606 are cool when stacked but they are not perfect when used as a single cab because they are only like 1 foot 8 inches high, the ampeg with wheels under it is 2 feet 4 inches

My Trace Elliot 1524 cab is back up and running. This time, equipped with two Kappa Lite 3015's. Those speakers really stick out significantly farther than the standard Celestion speakers they replaced. I had to use washers to provide extra clearance between them and the grill. Sounds pretty good so far.

A bucket list amp for me is a Peavey MKIII or IV (with the 210W 400BH amp module) on top of a Peavey 215BW cab. Big, heavy, loud, punchy, indestructible.

The overall tone seems identical down to about 100 hz or so would be my guess. At that point the resonating lows can be quite overwhelming with the big cabs. I honestly feel the smaller boxes have an overall better string to string balance where as the low E sting seems to stick out a bit too much on the big boxes unless you take out some low bass. But if low bass is your thing, you'ld love these big cabs. My favorite cab of all time!

I do use a vintage Acoustic 106 2x15 cab and never find myself sounding muddy or needing more highs. I never miss the tweeter.

I think tweeters are needed for slapstyle funk or maybe some pickstyle rock or metal, or ERB players. For my meat-and-potatoes playing style, I can do without.

Nah, I hate tweeters when I play rock or metal. Mostly because if I'm playing those styles, I'm using a bit of overdrive. Which sounds terrible through tweeters.
