Who's transcribing what right now?

I went old school and did, you know, a bass line? :)

Crazy huh?

A classic that probably a lot of folks have in their binders - Sam Jones on Autumn Leaves.

Check it out here on my blog, with some analysis and witty commentary as usual.

Download the thing as a pdf and check it out. Good stuff in there.

Enjoy.

Nice Site!! I'll be checking in more often ; )
BTW!! Love me some Sam Jones. Check out Sam killing Little Pixie w/Thad Jones Mel Lewis live at the Vanguard.

Thanks! Since I posted that, there have a been a lot of transcription additions up there - Clifford Brown on "Pent Up House", Coltrane's Solo and Chambers walking line on "Mr. P.C.", and Jeff Berlin playing "Valse Nobles et Sentimentale" which is just nuts plus some others, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans, all in bass clef of course.

All free so download away, and I use bopland.org for a lot of them so you can hear the transcriptions in your browser.

Yeah, really really nice site. I'll be checking back in often. Thanks for sharing all that hard work.

I'm working on Unkown Angels by Tony Grey, of the album of the same name. Love that song, and love his tone on the album. I'll probably work on the other songs when I get time, as Im hoping to get a few Ghatam lessons from Shri Vikku Vinayakram (:hyper:)

In reply to a question asked earlier, Dil Chahata Hai means "The heart wants/desires", or "What the heart wants/desires"

Dil = Heart
Chahata hai = Wants

Wow! Great site. Thanks so much.

I'm picking out licks and phrases from Cannonball Adderley's "Sophisticated Swing: The Emarcy Small Group Sessions"
mainly "Lover Man", and "What's New"...Awesome album, everything on it is fantastic...Love his phrasing, ...check it out. Also anything from "Somethin' Else"...Cannonball at his best!!
