Who's transcribing what right now?

I'm transcribing Patitucci's solo on "Cats & Kittens", from the Abercrombie/Mintzer/Erskine/Patitucci live CD....

I'm on the last chorus, and have just reached the "unplayable" part...

Maybe you guys can help me. For one of my subjects at Uni we have to choose a single transcription to really focus on throughout the semester. The criteria is (if it's a single-line solo/melody) it's gotta be between 3-5 minutes long.

Now I'm struggling a bit cause most of the stuff I want to transcribe is out of the range of 4-string (which is what I play), by that I mean I would need a high C to get the high stuff. I know I can just pop it down the octave, but the point is to follow the solo precisely so switching octaves in a particular place might sound a bit awkward.

Does anyone have any particular ideas? I'd love to hear some. I'm going to see my lecturer to see if Miles solo on Straight No Chaser is too easy. I started that a long time ago and would love to finish it and really dig into it.

well, i'm now working on Tal's BC. it's all played in a 4 string bass, and it's quite challenging (and fun)! i've transcribed it all, and now i'm speeding it up...

here is the tune:

Nice thread! Have not spotted it before.

I'm currently listening and transcribing a lot of Elliot Mason's stuff. What a crazy ass player, extremely instersting tonality and phrasing.
Today ive been working on this cool version of "What is this thing called love" with Janek from Venezuela,
Great tune, and some crazy bone playing.

Guys, who can identify these two piano chords (actually voicings) in this Richard bona track
You can hear them at 1:55-1:56
It sounds like the movement goes from a diminished to a seventh chords (with some extensions) but not sure?!? I would like to be able to built some spicy fills with different scales that match that tiny progression in the general context of a I-IV-V. I really need to work my transcribing skills, wioou.
