Who's your FAVORITE Bass player?

The one member of Led Zeppelin who came to his senses and cut his hair

John Paul Jones, Gedy Lee, and Chris Squire got me going in
9th grade. Then I heard Stanley Clarke and then Jaco Pastorious. When anyone presses me to pick just one I seem to always revert to Jaco. His approach is insanely unique. However, I don't play like any of them.

I grew up listening to Maiden, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Sabbath and so on. So I have my heroes. However, one of them is the bass player for argentine rock band Divididos (I'm from Argentina). They are called the steamroller of rock!
Anyway, this guy is a helluva player, not the virtuoso kind of player, but he plays hard rock and kicks ass. For me as a kid, he was the baddest bassist ever. His name is Diego Arnedo.

Check out these videos:

The first video is a bass player cam, with the bass boosted, or the rest of the audio turned down. He plays a truly roadworn '63 jazz with the neck from a '59 precision, I think it is. don't know what the Pups are or if there are any other mods to it. It look sweeeet!

As far as his rig I can only tell you what I could see last time I saw the band, a few months back at an amphitheater with over 10,000 attendance. I could see 4 heads, two big marshalls, an ampeg SVT, and I think a fender super bassman, and he had 4 ampeg fridges behind him. Talk about a huge sound :bassist:
