Several years ago, we put together a jump blues / pseudo swing band. We booked a demo session before we were able to hire a sax player, and sax was fairly critical to what we were doing. Soooo, we laid down the sax parts with a kazoo as a place holder until we could get a sax player to redo the parts. Well, it turned out to be fairly cool so we left the kazoo part in place. Our version of "Sing, Sing, Sing" was actually picked up and put on the "New Millennium Swing" compilation along with several national acts...turned out to be the biggest single paycheck I've ever received as a musician. So, yeah, I dig a kazoo.

Thank-you for clarifying that, I was wondering what your wife is when she wasn't busy being a kazoo.

Awhile back, someone started a thread about the bass/ synth "effect" in Just What I Needed by The Cars. Someone else suggested they use a kazoo for that part. I suppose I'm writing this message so someone might do just that. Then, and only then, will I have a favorite kazoo player.
