Why are Basses on Ebay not allowed to post here?

Thank goodness they are not allowed here. I visit a few boards that only seem to have e-bay postings in their classified sections, and they are a bore to look through.

If I want to search ebay, I go to eBay and search eBay...

Plus, though relative newbie to TalkBass... this forum is more like a group of friends.... and has a real close knit feel to it.
So, the modus operandi is to give your friends at Talk Bass first crack at any cool equipment, at your best deal.

IF that doesn't work out, then let the masses at eBay have at it.

A lot of folks here know they could get a better deal at eBay, but this site is a happy medium between "I really need the cash" and "I would rather my equipment go to a good home", which is what selling to friends is all about.

It seems to be working really well, and if its not broke....

Because you're using TB resources to generate revenue for another website - in this case ebay.

Incidentally, please read the classifieds rules as they clearly explain when ebay links are permitted
No Ebay or other auctions. Threads started with the intent to advertise an auction will be deleted. Links to auctions will only be allowed if posted as a reply to an existing (at least one week old) thread originally advertising the direct sale of the same item.

Ditto! Well said!:bassist:
