Cannot currently afford a good all tube amp at the moment. Someday.
Tube amps are amazing. If they are available to record with, I'll take it any day. However, if you're on the road a lot, they're bad. You really have to baby a tube amp. I'll stick with my 800RB.

I’m with you 100% — I’m all about the tactile feedback, which is also why I don’t like compressors or IEMs...or sticky finish on the back of the neck, or an un-beveled edge where my forearm rests on the bass...I like the way it feels to play through a big tube amp, which is something that to my surprise, many people don't mention when they talk about tube amps.
that's it for me: i made the decision years ago to pass on the heavy stuff.Weight will surely be a big factor.
So I know the tube vs solid state thing gets beat to death. I'm not here for that. This is mostly for those of you who would like to use tube amps, but don't, so my question is more along the lines of:
What aren't tube amps doing that keeps you from using them?
Weight will surely be a big factor. How light would they have to get for you to consider it?
What other features aren't common to tube amps that you require?
I use IEM, but still need tactile feedback. And the massive lows IEM can't really reproduce.which is also why I don’t like compressors or IEMs...
